Lee Kyeong-Ok

Abstract
This study is about play therapy for a 4-year-old boy whose father has remarried, and who suffer from confusion and attachment disorder because of the loss of his biological mother. Parent-child interaction play therapy and individual play therapy were conducted 5 times and 51 times, respectively. In the case of this study, the aim of therapy is to release negative feelings and to re-experience rearing. The parents¡¯ goal in the therapy is to improve parent-child attachment. The therapist leads the child to fully express his desires and conflicts in both play therapy and game therapy. She also helps the parents to acquire parenting skills and to improve confidence as parents through parental counseling. The results of play therapy show that the child¡¯s aggression is reduced and his emotional stability is increased. Also, the child¡¯s affinity
with his parents is improved. In addition, the parents understand their child better than before and parent-child closeness is improved. Because family therapy was not carried out, however, family stability was not completely secured.
